I think that's a fabulous idea! I'm the only person in my friend group who's love of food approximates obsession. And it's SO hard to find friends who are willing to try new restaurants with me, especially for an expensive meal. Eating alone just isn't as meaningful, though. When I graduated from college I'd planned to save up and take myself to Per Se for dinner (Thomas Keller's NYC restaurant). Of course I couldn't find anyone willing to save up $500 for dinner, and ultimately I decided the experience wouldn't be all I'd dreamed of (and salivated over) if I didn't have anyone to compare food notes with. Anyway...sorry for rambling. Awesome post!
