About

Welcome to my brain dump. My name is Derek, I’m a semi-fresh college grad getting certified to teach high school science, but I’d like to think there’s more to me than that. I started this blog as an experiment/creative outlet, as well as to share “what they found (also a song by the Octopus Project)”, basically anything interesting found floating along the web on my often meandering surfing sessions.

Turns out though, link dumps really have no soul, and it’s hard to generate content without spending inordinate amounts of time hunting cool stuff down or ripping off the same sites over and over. I’m still working out exactly what it’s all about and my aims have changed a couple times already, but I’d like to post more original content. This needy little thing called grad school and teacher certification tends to get in the way, though, so the posts might be a little sporadic for a while, but hang with me and I’ll try to make them interesting.

As I said, the content of this site will likely change along with my interests, so who knows what you’ll find.  I’ve recently been bitten by the photography bug, and I’ve included a link to my Picasa account under the Photography link at the top of the homepage. I’m always adding to it, so feel free to check back in and see what’s new. Leave a comment if you find something interesting, discussions are always welcomed.  Enjoy.
