Stefan Nadelman: Spring Fever, Birds, Bees, and Food Fights

If you can’t tell already, I’m a sucker for well made music videos. Something about the synergistic combination of creative, beautiful, and transfixing visuals with already powerful music really narfles my garthok.

Anyways, just in time for spring, a couple spring-themed videos (of the darker sort), both directed by Stefan Nadelman, an award-winning artist who won the Sundance 2003 award for his video “Terminal Bar”.

The first video, “I Say Fever” by Ramona Falls, does an awesome job of punching your earballs in the gut. It does a great job of accentuating the music with an awesome and unique visual style, and matches the action with the music perfectly. It feels like the folks from Married to the Sea found some illicit substance and decided to remake some strange children’s story. Just watch it already.

The second video, “Evil Bee” by Menomena, follows suit, not surprisingly since it’s also directed by Stefan Nadelman, and the artist, Brent Knopf, actually used to be in Menomena before splitting off and forming his own group. Gives new meaning to “the birds and the bees”, and makes you want to forget where honey actually comes from. Oh well, cram some of this sweetness in your earholes.

Bonus:
Stefan also directed the short film “Food Fight”, which depicts the history of war from World War II to present using representative foods from each country. It’s entertaining and funny, given its subject matter, even funnier if you actually paid attention in world history and know your world foods. The cold war arms race cracked me up. Bon Appetit.
